Overview

A client is actively seeking a dynamic person to join their Service Delivery Team to look after their Veritas Backup Clients and do daily monitoring of the Veritas Backup Infrastructure

Description

  • Daily checks of customers backup status
  • Daily checks done via Veritas Software
  • Notify and liaise with customers on Backup failures and rectify all Backup failures, where appropriate (via Email and Telephonically).
  • Liaise with Senior Engineers regarding issues which are beyond scope. (Escalate issues or problems that cannot be rectified by the Service Delivery Team)
  • Compile a daily backup failure report
  • Perform ad-hoc requests from the customer (restores / add-remove servers from backups / re-run failed backups etc.)
  • Compile the Weekly Backup Success rate report with comments on backup successes or failures
  • Conduct monthly Restore tests for the customer
  • Manage Backup Register for the customer
  • Add backup servers etc. on customer requests and configure backups (Servers)
  • Help with Call Desk administration and various Call desk tasks.2-5 years Veritas Backup experience
    Man the Call Desk phone if required.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

  • 2-5 years Veritas Backup experience
  • Minimum NQF 4 (Matric)
  • NQF 5 or higher will be advantageous
  • Veritas Administrator
  • A+ / N+ or CompTia IT fundamentals
  • Vendor Certification (Veritas)
  • Self-motivated and can work within a team
  • MS Office literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook essential)
  • Ability to work independently and meet daily tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
