Duties and Responsibilities
Manage Information Technology and computer systems
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP) as well as the Telecommunication system of the Company.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development
- Meet with managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines
- Hire and manage information systems personnel and contractors to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems.
- Manage the computer systems budgets and expenditures
Ensure Technology is accessible and equipped with up to date
Hardware and Software
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and network communication systems
- Be up to date with all Company hardware and software updates and functionality
- Be up to date with Company network and communication system
- Provide orientation to new users of existing and new technology
- Train staff on functionality of existing and new technology
- Provide individual training and support on request
Monitor and maintain Technology to ensure maximum accessibility and redundancy
- Asses and manage all technical issues
- Management of the Firewall
- Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
- Make recommendations on sourcing and purchasing of new technology resources
- Manage Network access to all staff
- Manage Work Stations
- Manage hardware installations and updates
- Manage essential Company Software
- Manage and supply Network access and User Accounts
- Manage security of all technology
- Manage and maintain a complex password system
- Management of IP addressing
Ensure that all the critical Systems, Processes and Data are backed up
- Ensure that backup solutions are configured and are up to date
- Ensure that the backup solutions are managed and maintained to not lose any data in any event
- Ensure that Disaster Management plans and procedures are in place
- Test the Backup integrity and disaster management plan on a quarterly basis to ensure that the data integrity is up to expectation
- Make recommendations on sourcing and purchasing of new backup technology resources
- Manage Data access to all staf
Manage and support the CRM and ERP Systems specifically SAGE 300 (Accpac) and SAGE CRMAccpac) and SAGE CRM
- Manage the Communication between Developers, Project Managers and the Company End Users
- Provide First Line support and Training to end users
- Escalate and follow up on queries that need to be addressed by the Developers
- Ensure that the Live, Development and Test environments are functional and accessible to all required parties and users
- Ensure that regular backups are done at random stages during the project, especially before major updates, changes and implementation
Desired Experience & Qualification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES and ATTRIBUTES:
- The Manager must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- National Diploma in Information Technology or at least A+, N+ and Microsoft Certification.
- 5-10 years IT Management Experience
Must have at least 8 years working experience in the following:
- Computer hardware and software systems and programs
- Computer networks, network administration and network installation
- Computer troubleshooting
- Computer viruses and security
- E-mail and internet programs
- Microsoft Windows and Server Operating Systems
- Managing a Domain through Active Directory and Terminal Services.
- Database Structure and accessing and extracting Data
- Sage 300(Accpac) and Sage CRM front and back-end
- IIS and Webservices
- SSRS Report Writing
- WMS Integration
- API Integration
- Java or Angular JS – Logs and basic debugging skills
