A Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery practice in Fourways is seeking a Medical Receptionist/Administrator to join its team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent customer service skills, capable of handling administrative and reception duties in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients both in person and over the phone with professionalism and care.
- Provide administrative support to the doctor, staff, and patients.
- Adhere to practice policies and procedures in all administrative activities.
- Assist with patient admissions and treatments as per agreed protocols.
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient bookings efficiently.
- Ensure stock levels are maintained and orders are placed in a timely manner.
- Handle phone calls and correspondence with discretion and professionalism.
- Communicate medical results to patients under clinical supervision.
- Process billings, payments, and medical aid authorizations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient visits and records while ensuring confidentiality.
- Liaise effectively between medical departments to facilitate smooth communication.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in administration or healthcare-related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working with Microsoft Office.
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans (required).
- Experience with SOLUMED Computer Package (advantageous).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical aid processes, patient billing, and healthcare administration is beneficial.
