Medical Receptionist/Administrator

A Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery practice in Fourways is seeking a Medical Receptionist/Administrator to join its team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent customer service skills, capable of handling administrative and reception duties in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients both in person and over the phone with professionalism and care.
  • Provide administrative support to the doctor, staff, and patients.
  • Adhere to practice policies and procedures in all administrative activities.
  • Assist with patient admissions and treatments as per agreed protocols.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient bookings efficiently.
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained and orders are placed in a timely manner.
  • Handle phone calls and correspondence with discretion and professionalism.
  • Communicate medical results to patients under clinical supervision.
  • Process billings, payments, and medical aid authorizations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient visits and records while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Liaise effectively between medical departments to facilitate smooth communication.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in administration or healthcare-related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working with Microsoft Office.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans (required).
  • Experience with SOLUMED Computer Package (advantageous).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of medical aid processes, patient billing, and healthcare administration is beneficial.
