Service Delivery Backup Monitoring Engineer (Veritas)

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Service Delivery Team, responsible for monitoring Veritas Backup Clients and maintaining the Veritas Backup Infrastructure.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily checks of customer backup statuses using Veritas Software.
  • Notify and liaise with customers regarding backup failures and resolve issues where possible.
  • Escalate complex issues to Senior Engineers.
  • Compile daily backup failure reports and weekly success rate reports.
  • Perform ad-hoc requests from customers, including restores and backup configurations.
  • Conduct monthly restore tests and manage the customer’s Backup Register.
  • Assist with Call Desk administration and man the Call Desk phone as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid Code 8 driver’s license and reliable transport.
  • Stable internet at home with the ability to work remotely when required.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience with Veritas Backup.

Qualifications

  • Minimum NQF 4 (Matric); NQF 5 or higher is advantageous.
  • Veritas Administrator certification preferred.

Skills

  • A+ / N+ or CompTIA IT Fundamentals.
  • Vendor Certification (Veritas).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage daily tasks effectively.
