Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Service Delivery Team, responsible for monitoring Veritas Backup Clients and maintaining the Veritas Backup Infrastructure.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily checks of customer backup statuses using Veritas Software.
- Notify and liaise with customers regarding backup failures and resolve issues where possible.
- Escalate complex issues to Senior Engineers.
- Compile daily backup failure reports and weekly success rate reports.
- Perform ad-hoc requests from customers, including restores and backup configurations.
- Conduct monthly restore tests and manage the customer’s Backup Register.
- Assist with Call Desk administration and man the Call Desk phone as needed.
Requirements
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license and reliable transport.
- Stable internet at home with the ability to work remotely when required.
Experience
- 2-5 years of experience with Veritas Backup.
Qualifications
- Minimum NQF 4 (Matric); NQF 5 or higher is advantageous.
- Veritas Administrator certification preferred.
Skills
- A+ / N+ or CompTIA IT Fundamentals.
- Vendor Certification (Veritas).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage daily tasks effectively.
