Strategic Business Developer (Operations & Growth)

Overview:
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic Strategic Business Developer with a strong operational and commercial background. Our client, based in Bryanston, is looking for a strategic thinker who can blend operational leadership with business development expertise to drive growth, improve efficiency, and support executive-level decision-making.
This role is ideal for a commercially astute individual who has held senior operations or COO-type roles and is passionate about scaling business performance through data-driven strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and drive strategic business opportunities aligned with company objectives
- Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement operational strategies and frameworks
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects across sales, operations, and client onboarding
- Analyse key performance metrics (sales, margins, retention) to inform business direction
- Build and nurture relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Prepare strategic reports, business proposals, and executive presentations
- Support pricing strategies, tenders, and solution design for large-scale clients
- Work closely with Ops, Finance, and Client Services to optimise the value chain
- Champion CRM adoption, pipeline visibility, and sales reporting processes
- Identify operational inefficiencies and propose improvements to enhance profitability
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Strategy, or Operations
- 5–8 years’ experience in a senior operations, business development, or strategy role
- Demonstrated success in scaling operations and driving commercial performance
- Solid understanding of business intelligence, sales metrics, and automation tools
- Strong financial and analytical acumen with the ability to interpret P&L and dashboards
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce or HubSpot), and business tools
- Experience working in fast-paced, target-driven environments
